From 1963 to 1972, the initial stage of the enterprise.
It mainly fabricates nails used in making and repairing ships, shuttle pegs used in weavings, as well as farm implement, such as hoe, spade, etc. At that time, the society was a small one employing only around 200 workers. It was then an enterprise of single product and backward technology, equipped with merely stoves, hoes, hammers, steel drill, piers and several old lathes.

 From 1973 to 1988, the enterprise was developing steadily in production and constructions.
In 1972, the enterprise started to develop and manufacture pliers- slim nose pliers. In 1975, the slim nose pliers produced by the enterprise were first exported to Poland through Shanghai Foreign Trade Company. In the same year, the revenue from exporting reached RMB 450,000 Yuan. The enterprise was the first commune enterprise doing exporting business. After a decade of development, the enterprise has expanded the single slim nose pliers to 13 categories of products with 48 different specs. Meanwhile, the enterprise also developed the jacquard machine. In 1984, the enterprise began to develop auto parts and set up Xiaoshan Auto Traversing Mechanism Factory, manufacturing steering box for autos in 1985. In 1987, the enterprise was recognized by Mechanical and electrical exporting office under the State Council as “Self-managed exporting enterprise”. In 1988, the enterprise was nominated by Enterprise Regulatory Commission of the State Council as the National second level enterprise, which is one of the three National second level enterprises in Xiaoshan City. During the same year, the gross industrial output value of the enterprise is RMB 17million Yuan, with RMB 3.54million Yuan total tax of interest, a profit of RMB 2.4million Yuan and a total export value of RMB 11.9million Yuan. At the end of 1988, the enterprise has covered 24000m2, with a construction area of 18000m2. The original value of fixed assets was RMB 5.32million Yuan, and the enterprises had then employed 1000 workers (including 127engineering and technical workers.)

 From 1989 to now, the enterprise has entered an era of fast development
In 1989 and 1991, the enterprise merged Xiaoshan Wenyan Plating Hardware Factory and Hangzhou Wenyan Textile Machinery Factory, two collective ownership enterprises facing bankruptcy. In April, 1991, basing on Xiaoshan Hardware Factory, Zhejiang Wanda Group was established. In 1992 and 1993, the group merged respectively Wenyan Shanwu Paper Carton Factory and Wenyan Dongshanchen Foundry, two village enterprises. In 1994, the group’s subsidiary Xiaoshan Traversing Mechanism Factory set up Zhejiang Wanda Traversing Co., Ltd through recruiting corporation funds. In 1996, in order to develop the auto industry, the company cooperated with Guangxi Liuzhou Minimotor Factory and set up Hangzhou Wuling Auto Factory to develop and manufacture “Wuling Motors”. In 1997, to bring in foreign investment and introduce the advanced technology and management experience from abroad, Wanda Traversing Mechanism Co., Ltd. cooperation with GM Saginaw China and set up Zhejiang Xiaoshan Saginaw Traversing Co., Ltd. (Later recalled Zhejiang Wanda steering gear co.,Ltd)
The “Wanda” series of pliers are superior products of ministerial level. With the annual output of 18million per annum, the products have passed the ISO9000 and German GS qualifications. The products are marketed around the world, and have gained the first in scale, quality, profit and exchange earning throughout China. It also won the golden prize in the Second Chinese Hardware Expo. The products are “single champions” in the industry, and are called “the oriental pliers king”. Wanda brand is entitled as famous brand of Zhejiang province. The “Xunhuan” series of steering boxes have passed QS9000 and VDA6.1 qualifications. With an annual output of 250000 sets, the products are widely used as parts of autos from the First, the Second automobile groups and Jiangling, Jeep, SAIC Wuling, etc. In 2000, Hangzhou Xanadu leisure Co., Ltd. was established. It constructed the Xanadu Custom Garden, which is the chief facilitate project of the 2006 World Leisure Expo. Sofitel Xanadu Resort within this project opened on March 8, 2006, is the only five-star resort hotel under the management of Accor Group France in Zhejiang. During the growth of the enterprise, we have also won a series of glories. The group was enlisted into the 500 largest township enterprises in China, designated as the manufacturing and exporting base of hardware tools, a group of five small giant enterprises in Zhejiang Province, model unit of Zhejiang Province, and environmental unit of Zhejiang Province, state top export-based unit, and top 100 enterprises of Xiaoshan City.
